Secret Foods For A Fast Metabolism

You already know that the cornerstone of fat loss is a good metabolism. You probably even know that one the best ways to boost your metabolism is to increase muscle. You might have even consulted with a personal trainer to make sure your workout routine leads to as much fat burning and metabolism boosting as possible. But how do you adjust your diet to make sure the foods you eat are as metabolism friendly as possible?

Instead of eating three meals throughout the day, eat several little meals. You don’t necessarily have to reduce the number of calories you eat, just cut the size of you meals in half and space them out throughout the day. Constantly eating small amounts of food keeps your blood sugar up, which gives you more energy. This might be difficult to do at first, but after a while it will feel natural.

If you want a strong metabolism, definitely avoid eating huge, Thanksgiving-sized meals. This will be far too much food for your metabolism to handle efficiently, and a lot of it will be stored as fat. You will gain weight, have less energy, and make it more difficult to get back on track to your usual diet.

Make certain to include some protein and fat in every one of your meals. For practical purposes, fat and protein simply make you feel full for longer periods of time. Feeling full makes you likely to stay faithful to your diet. When you eat protein, it helps maintain your energy level by maintaining your blood sugar. Eating nothing but bread will make you feel jazzed one moment and totally crashed the next. Eating some tuna will help your energy levels and metabolism stay up for longer. You can get healthy protein from a number of sources, including shrimp, chicken, nuts, and cottage cheese.

Also make sure you get you daily dose of fibrous fruits and vegetables. The antioxidants and vitamins that are packed into fruits and vegetables help keep your healthier and more resistant to diseases. Besides being healthy, vegetables also give you a great feeling of fullness. Bananas or carrot sticks also make a fantastic mid day snack. If vegetables aren’t really your thing, try and find creative ways to prepare them. You can steam them, make them a part of a salad, or make them a part of the protein in your meal.

If you want a supercharged metabolism, you have to consume enough calories to maintain it. Restricting your calories too much will actually cause your body to go into hibernation mode, storing up at much fat as it can while burning away your muscle for energy. Not only this, but reducing your calories will make you more likely to feel hungry more often, making it easier to feel frustrated with your diet and more likely to cave in by binging. Remember, it’s not about eating more, it’s about eating smart.

It’s all about balance. Don’t just go after the healthy foods. Find the foods that are both healthy and won’t make you feel hungry all the time. This will make it easier to do everything in your power to get a powerful metabolism.
