If it is carbs that raise blood sugar, why do diabetic diets have you eat so many carbs?
It seems that a low carb , high protien diet would help more.
It’s got to be the right kinds of carbs. Carbs that are high in refined sugars and white flour will spike and/or crash a diabetics insulin levels.
Slow digesting carbs, like brown rice, yams, wheat and whole grains, work slowly gradually balancing the sugar levels. They don’t overload the system so to speak.
The problem with high protein diets is they are hard on your digestive systems. Pancreas, Gallbladder, Kidneys, can all get messed up if they get too much protein. Their is a medical name for it, Ketosis? I think. Something like that, the exact name escapes me.
